Hammer with algae sweater

I have a hammer coral that has been thriving, it started as 1 small head and now is 4x the size and has 3 heads forming off it.

That being said over the past couple weeks the stalk(?) has become wrapped in green algae. It is the only spot in the tank that is suffering from algae.

Should I let it go and run its course or is there some way to try and remove it.

Parameters are Temp-80, Salinity-1.025, A,N,N-0-0-2, Phos-0, Calc-385, Mag-1240, Alk-7.1

Thanks

Do you have a pic as that would help looking at it? If you have algae then it needs to be coming from somewhere.

How old is your test kit?
Did you add any new rock that could leak phosphates?
etc...

If you tank hasn't changed and the test kit is good I would say run GFO. However, your Ca is low and you would have to make sure your are dosing appropriately and slowly to bring it up.

Attached are some picture, hopefully they are good enough, cell phone camera with no lights on. If more is needed I will take a better shot tomorrow.

Test kit is less than a year and is the Red Sea Reef kit.
No new rock or anything that could leak has been added, I do run GFO in a reactor. Like I said this is the only spot algae can be seen.

I know my big 3 are a little low but that is another thread do to complications on my end.

I'm not really seeing the green algae your talking about, but as the coral grows it will eventually shade out the stalk causing the algae to just die off on it's own. I wouldn't worry about it too much, but definitely keep your eye on it. GL.

i wouldn't worry. your tank looks kind of new. algae will appear time from time. as long as it doesn't get out of control you should be ok. no need to worry just yet :)
