Hang on Back Skimmer

Hi again everyone, I am in the final stages here, soon be ordering some hardware.

My question today revolves around protein skimmers. I have been reading about many different hang on back skimmers, but there are so many to choose from.... Can anyone suggest or recommend a nice skimmer for my 40g high.

I like the Coralife Super Skimmer 65 with needle wheel. Its my first skimmer, and a lot of people like them on here. They are almost half the cost of the Remora. Remora is supposed to be the best, but I dont think its twice as good to justify the price. The Coralife can be converted to in-sump with supplied parts, so you can have either setup.

I personally run Aqua C Remoras and a Remora Pro. I have heard some decent reviews of the Coralife Super Skimmer but have not seen it in action to make an accurate statement about it. The trick here is that you will always find someone who hates what you have....or it may be "in" one week and "out" the next.

There is a great advantage to needle wheel style skimmers over venturi or injection style skimmers. Many suggest that the "chopping" action of the needle wheel significantly increases the foam fractioning action (or some science jargon like that). Either way, there is definitely a difference.

I've been running the Aqua C's for over a year and am a VERY satisfied customer. I mean, heck, I bought three! And I have found their customer service to be *extremely* helpful and responsive despite what I have heard some others say about them.
