Hanging/mounting LED lights?

Im getting ready to purchase some LED lights for my 90G. I want to hang the above the tank but not sure what will look the best. What did you guys do to hang your "boxes" . I will NOT hang them from the ceiling. I saw someone used a couple pieces of conduit painted black to hang thier fixtures, that what Im looking for something along those lines. Pics,pics,pics PLEASE.. Need some ideas, THANKS guys.

Best, cheapest way I found was using a Rubbermaid Twin Track upright and bracket hung on the wall. Buy the screw kit it comes with. You can find them in the shelving section of home depot. About $15-20 total.

24in upright is the smallest size, so I just cut the upright with a hack saw down to about 14in with 2 screw holes. Use 2 plastic anchors and screws from the kit (anchors not needed if you can hit a wall stud), then just attach a 14.5 or 18in bracket depending on the size you need.

The best part about using this way, is that you can adjust the height of the bracket and lights by just moving it up and down the track.

Let me ask you guys with hanging LEDs a question. Does the light being suspended let off too much light in the room? My 90 is in my living room and sitting on the couch we are eye level about half way up the tank, Im just worried about getting blinded by the lights being hung so far up.. I was going to go T5 because of this but really want the ELE/ savings of LEDS. A cannopy is not an option. Thanks

Looks good!, Can you post a close up of the swingarm and maybe from behind. It is two swingarms attached to one upright pole correct? Is the center pole attached to the wall or something else? Sorry for all of the questions....

My aquarium is in our living room and my wide already hates it so I need to make it look as nice as I can (as cheaply as I can)

I plan on having a hood to hide it but I gutted an old PC light fixture and drilled holes through my heat sink and through the shell so I could bolt the heatsink to the shell. It would require a hood to hide it but forces the light down instead of out.

BigKahuna, never mind I found your thread....

Glad you found it, it looks a bit better now because I cut the top few inches of the support pole so it looks a little less obtrusive. I'm in the final stretch of getting the entire build done so all should be complete soon… I hope.
