I am looking to get a checker but I am confused about which one to purchase. There are 3 different checkers for phosphates. I also noticed that others said to get the PHOSPHORUS checker as it is more accurate. Which one am I supposed to purchase?

I have the 713 low range phos checker. I'm wondering why you say 736? Do I have wrong one? Is the 736 more accurate?

My understanding is the phosphorous meter goes lower, but that you need to convert the phosphorus (simple multiplication/division) to phosphate.

I didn't know there were 3, but of the two I know about; one is PPB (parts per billion) and the other is PPM (part per million). Obviously, the PPB would be more accurate, but whether or not you need to register less than zero PPM, you will have to decided for your tank. If so then you will need the PPB.

I ordered the 736. What calculation will I need to do to convert to phosphate?

OK... looking to pick-up one of these Hanna Checkers and my question is:

Is there a difference between Phosphorus and Phosphate??

If so which tester do we want for a reef tank? the 736 or 713?

I was able to test my top off water tonight. I suspected my RODI unit might not be all that great. I got a reading of 0.058 after the calculation. Is this a really high reading? I realize it needs to be 0 but my reading is still low. Also, the checker says "marine" on the front. Does that mean it should only be used to test salt water?
