Take the space out from between "reef" and "builders" and copypasta!

I heard about these a couple of weeks ago. I think they're fairly expensive to operate (I've heard $1/test, not including the initial cost of the unit), but its still nice! Hopefully reagent refills will get cheaper. :)

Very cool. If they're accurate, which they likely are, I would use these over any other kit.

Brandon, that's what I've read also. The meter is going to run about $50. I don't know if you get any reagents with the initial purchase, I imagine you would. Then reagent refills will run $25 for 25 tests.

For phosphate it's $23/100, Nitrite is $27/100 I am guess the price should be around that.

Pelagic is correct. I have the PO4 checkmeter (we tested it at the FINS meeting). It is 22 cents per test.

These meters are FAR more accurate than any chemical/vial test. They use the ned LED pohotometer technology. TThe dame LED's in the 700-1000 doallr units that can do multiple tests...Hannah jsut isloated them into a cery compact and basic package that is great for hobbyists.
I comapred these when I was researching photomoeters for myself. I decided to try the ckeckmate before spending $700.00 (thats the lowest price) for a multi series tester that did way more than I needed, but included all the core tests wanted. I was very surprised at the accuracy and price..so staying with the chackmate stuff.

The cost is the same as a good checmical test kit (meaning for chemcal they are good).

The Alk is already Out, It's the KH meter and Alk are one and the Same. There is a formula to convert one to the other in the Chemistry Forum.FYI
