A full tank shot, note the southern-facing window in the back and the significant direct sunlight on the tank. This was taken at 1:45 p.m. It gets this much light pretty much all day. And we get tons of sunlight here in Berkeley, CA.

This is the back glass, which abuts the bright window and is difficult enough to access that it doesn't get cleaned very often. This is about a week's worth of algae growth. Doesn't seem so crazy to me:

Granted, this is my first saltwater tank since college (early 90s), so perhaps I'm missing some warning signs or problems. But it just doesn't look like a tank in distress to me, and everything I've read suggests that phosphates of 2.5 ppm would equal a disastrous looking tank.
