Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year everyone, hope your's is going better than mine!!!

Here's how mine started.

Well this morning was going just fine, I was in bed sound asleep. I was dreading getting up because I knew as soon as I did a spaceship was going to come out of the middle of nowhere and smash straight into my head. For fuel this spaceship used margarittas and many, many bottles of corona. Don't ask how I know what it used for fuel, I just know! :o This spaceship only seems to find me about once every three or four years, I guess I'm pretty lucky.

Anyway, as I'm laying there in bed asleep or passed out, no reason to split hairs on this one, my dog goes nuts. I figured maybe an ant was walking across the yard or something and she wanted me to know about it. No such luck. I look out the window and see this in the ditch in my front yard.

I immediately threw on some clothes and headed out front. First thing I did was check on the driver, he seemed to be fine. Asked him a couple of basic questions, everything checked out. All he had was a nice gash above his right eye, could probably take a couple stitches but he chose not to. Next thing I did was started picking up car parts out of the road to avoid anyone else getting a flat or anything like that. After this the driver decided he wanted to try to move the car, luckily it is rear wheel drive. I was able to set on the back of the car which allowed it to get enough traction to come out of the ditch. He was then able to move the car into my driveway.

Next a couple of my neighbors walked over to check on the driver and her (my neighbors) fence. Unfortunately he took out a couple of fence posts. Next step he came into the house to clean himself up some. When he came in my wife imediately recognized him. Once she said his name I recognized him as well, he was a friend / ex-coworker of my wifes. Well now we chit chat a little and find out that the car isn't even his, it belongs to the lady he is house sitting for......oops. She is out of town and won't be back until Thursday. All I can say is that I'm glad I don't have to tell her.

Next step, time to start working on a fence. We had to get right on that so that the cattle wouldn't get out into the road. Have you ever tried to set poles and tighten up barbed wire when your head feels like it is going to explode? In case you haven't let me just say this.......I'm never getting in a spaceship that is fueled by margaritas and corona again!!!!

Anywho, we get the poles set, get the fence tightened and then get to come back in the house. He cleaned himself up a little more while I layed on the couch watching the room spin, not a good feeling. He attempted to call some of his friends to come get him but no luck. We finally decided we would just run him home, he only lives about 40 minutes away. Oh, for the record in this instance "we" actually means my wife. There is no way I would get into a car at this point. I may be an idiot but I'm not an idiot that would put other people's lifes at risk.

Oh, for the record the past three days haven't been that great either. My dad had problems with his septic tank and we had to put a new one in. Problem was we couldn't get anyone with any equipment to come out so we had to dig the hole for the tank and the lines by hand. I spent three days shoveling. This hasn't really been my idea of a great long weekend.

Well, thats the not so short version. Just thought I would share. :o

Thanks, I'll check out the link tomorrow. As for easing the symptoms don't know that I really want to. Remembering how miserable I felt all day today should help keep me away from any and all UFO's for the next couple of years. :D

LOL :strooper: :eek2: :eek1:

You are a truely blessed man.
To be strong enough to help your Father do something he was unable to do alone, then help a neighbor rebuild a fence and save their investment in cattle and save someone else from hitting one and enduring a wreck. I envy you on being able to do so much good so early in the year.
Sounds like a year of blessing to me.

I hope I can do as much all year that you have already done.

I love the optomist! You make the world a better place. As do people like lowcell.

Tequila = To-Kill-Ya. Best left to the worm.

Happy New Year to all!

I feel your pain, Bruce, though I haven't had that particular "illness" in years I do remember! Hope your friend had permission to drive that very costly car...of course if he was DUI I hope he didn't have permission and gets in a boatload of trouble :) Sure is/was a pretty car.

I really hope that doesn't happen since the car is still in my driveway. However, if it does will just be an inconvenience for me since I know the guys name. Not only that I also have plenty of witnesses that will back me up. Namely the old lady who's fence we fixed and my other old lady neighbor that was there with her nose right in the middle of everything telling me exactly what I needed to do to fix the fence. Oh, that's the fence I didn't have anything to do with breaking by the way.

Boy oh boy. It sure is a shame to see a wrecked M roadster.

It could have been worse though, could have been this one. Would suck if I didn't have a nice M3 convertible to drive on those nice days. :D
