I had a great New Year's Day too -- I sat around all day in comfortable clothing reading "State of Fear" while the kids ran around outside for a while then came in to thaw out in front of a video (rinse/repeat). Didn't go anywhere. Didn't fix or fiddle or repair anything. It was a nice day.

runner, i see you're interested in guitar...we have a get-together here at the house about once a month with a bunch of people who play. my husband plays guitar, a little mandolin, and just got a new dobro for christmas. the next one is January 12. i always have a ton of food, and sometimes the non-musically gifted play poker (myself included), and drink some beer/wine, etc. you can check it out here: http://gratefuldead.meetup.com/167/
