I have a hard coral which has recently developed a white patch about an inch across.
I have recently laso had to introduce a Kh / ph buffer to raise my KH from 5 kdh which had dropped from 7 kdh in a matter of two weeks. I am also trying to raise my magnesium levels from 1200 ppm to over 1300 ppm. Could these be the main factors?
One final thought, could the whitening be from a pest in the tank such as a crab?
Any help would be gratefully received as I do not want to lose this coral? Especially if the situation can be improved.
