I want to put a harelquin tusk in a 100 gal reef. All I have right now is a nem an occ clown a perc and some azure damsels which I dont realy care about. The clowns are about an inch. Would this work with a realy small harelquin?

Small tusks are tough to find, especially the preferred Australian variety. Even a small one will take bites out of small fish. An HT just doesn't belong in any reef and 100 gals is too small, IMO & IME. These are big, robust fish and should be with similar fish. An HT in a 100 gal reef with smaller fish isn't even close to a fit; I'd strongly advise you not to try it. i have mixed feelings im hearing ppl say there fine with fish if the tusk is small, and others saying there monsters

It will vary from HT from HT but the bigger the tusk the less chance of success especially if it was purchased big IMO, since the tusk would already of developed eating habits in the wild that may not translate over into your reef tank

I've always had an HT with my small fish as well as shrimp. Have a pair of fire shrimp and cleaner shrimp. He's never hurt or touched anything. This is even after adding the shrimp many months after he was established.

My HT did will in my reef tank several years back, I started him as a little guy and he grew to a beast. He left the other fish alone, but ate the inverts like snacks! He made it tough to keep a cleaning crew. I only wish he was truly reef compatible!

I always have harlequin in reef for one for 3- 4 years great fish never touch other inverts except shrimp and they need a lot of space though.

I current have large juvenile and medium size adult Aussie harlequin qt :) for my rebuild
