Harelquin Shrimp and tank Cleanliness

I'm setting up custom 10-ish gallon reef tank with a sump and thinking about putting in a pair of harlequin shrimp. I am buying a profilux controller for the tank and I will be programming it to change out 1/2 gallon or so of water every night. The sump will have a refugium and protein skimmer (not sure which one yet). So, I'm not concerned about the filtration in the tank as far as nitrates, etc goes, but I am concerned that the harlequins will be really messy eaters and I will be able to see debris floating around. Will a filter sock and the other filtration mentioned above be enough to remove any debris from the tank or will the starfish debris be visible?

Thanks for the help.

My shrimp makes a little bit of a mess, but he eats in areas of very, very low flow back in the rocks, so the 'debris' almost never floats around the tank. It does noticeably go away though, so I don't know if there's a CUC member that eats it or if he cleans it up himself.

my haqrlequins will hold onto a part of a star and not let it go for days so they wouldn't let any small bits go unless they had no intention of eating them. Harlequins will waste not, what not and They usually don't start to eat anything they won't finish!

I'd say your fine for keeping a clean tank with harlequins.

Mine are in a 6 gal nano, and I don't see any left over parts to the stars I feed. Every once in a while the star dies and they abandon it, but the few times that happens I just remove the starfish from the tank and replace it with a new one.
