Harlequin question

I put a hariquen shrimp in my tank last week. As soon as I added him or her the small stars made a run to the top of the tank. Well it's been a week and I have not seen the little guy since I put him in. Now some stars are on the glass but I see some stars back on the rocks. My question is... Is it possible that the hariquen shrimp got stuck in a rock and died? Do they always hide and are not seen? Do I need to buy another one? Did I spell hariquen right? Lol.

Mine did the same thing as did the stars climbing the glass. I'd occasionally see him at night. A single shrimp decimated the stars in my 300dt. I see him a lot more now that he's significantly reduced the star population. Try looking when the lights are out.

I find our 2 tend to hide if they are well fed and they are quite active and visible when hungry. Easy indicator of when it is time to buy another star for them to munch on

Yours is probably hiding in a crevice chowing down on all the easy food

Are the stars still taking the high road and acting like they want to escape? If yes shrimp is still there. Look below where all the stars are trying to climb away from.

Some stars are but some are back on the rocks. So I'm not too sure. Still haven't seen him. Do they have any enemies like anemones or tangs?

It was sort of funny. After you mentioned you hadn't seen yours in a few days, I got worried as I hadn't seen mine in at least 5 days after re-arranging the rock in my tank and I started seeing a couple stars on the glass again. After a thorough search under and around the rocks with a flashlight, I spotted it hiding under a rock. Don't give up.

How funny. I have a bare bottom and not too many rocks touching the bottom so I look every night to try to find that little guy. Still no luck... But stars are still up high on the glass so I'm not giving up just yet...

I still do not see the little shrimp. Is it possible for my anemone to eat the little guy. I may have to buy another harlequin shrimp...
