Harlequin Shrimp Foods

Bought a pair of Harlequin shrimps a couple weeks ago and have been feeding them their tasty chocolate chips, which leads me to my question. We all know our LFS' can be a wealth of both information but also misinformation so I figured the community would be best input for their latest statement.

They told me yesterday that they only eat the tips/legs of the starfish and not the middle because they cannot digest it. Now I was under the impression they ate the whole thing and so far, they have eaten what appears to be two entire chocolate chips... so is this accurate information or misinformation? Certainly wouldn't want to just have some of this decaying in my water.

And that brings up an excellent point; when people bring H Shrimps in to tackle a massive asterinas problem, if they were leaving that may segments of the starfish uneaten, the water issues would be significant I would think. When I was looking into these critters, not one things mentioned they will not eat the entire starfish, just that feeding them gonna be a bit costly.
