Maybe i missed where someone already said this but DO NOT USE KITCHEN SPONGES for anything tank related. The VAST majority have a anti bacterial component to keep them clean/ smelling good.

Thanks . How long before u notice if you are being successful? Would u recommend daily feeding verses every 3 days or something like that?

Just keep the water in the pod culture a good green color. I have three tanks going and typically add new plankton weekly.

Mine has lights from my aquarium hitting it. Is this sufficient or does it need it's own light?

The copepods? Should be fine. I keep mine in the basement so have a shop light on a timer set up on them.

Also don't use miracle grow. Use f2 fertilizer. Miracle grow might contain copper
