has any one had success with this fish food?

I seem to have a finicky tang that will only eat pellets. I want to get her on more algae. Has anyone used any of these products? How are their nutritional value?

I have never used those specific products, but everything they make is exceptional. You really need to do some research on your species of tang to see what type of algae it eats.

Your tang doesn't eat nori? My clan tears it apart in minutes. Ive been using Ocean Nutrition brand w/ garlic and they love it. Have you tried silversides, mysis, brine, krill? I drop live shrimp in and my tangs are snatching up shrimp as fast as anyone.

Try soaking nori in garlic extract or just plain garlic juice for a couple minutes. This could help attract the tang to it. Also if your trying to feed from a clip, try using a rubber band to attach some nori to a small rock and set it on the bottom of the tank.

The macrofeast is just OGO Gracillaria (more than likely spelled wrong). Any tang should completely destroy that stuff in the tank. It's like crack for tangs lol.

You can most definitely find it for a better price than what Macro-Feast sells for though.


The fuzzy phytes I tried as well. I had no luck with those. You need really low flow in the display. And even with my vortechs on feed mode, and my return pump off.... the fish were all scared of them. Your mileage may vary.

There's is nothing wrong with a tang eating only pellets, depending on the variety of pellets you are giving. But, usually, finicky eater especially tang will eat fuzzy red (second link). You can try to put pellets and other stuff at the same time, he will be on "feeding freenzy" and may pick something else, hence try it and probably like it.
