has any one used 1 of these Aiptasia Zapper…Using Electricity to Kill Aquarium Pests

hmmmm

hmmmm

Since saltwater is a very good conductor I wonder how that could work and be directed at something? If it would make them release and we could net them up that would be cool though! I would buy one if it works...

I do believe in the death penalty! lol all I got to say is i would shock the crud out of my self

i wonder if it would put off enough jolt to fry pesky damsels. it would be like Mr. Miagi in The Karate Kid , trying to catch the fly with the chopsticks.

I am lucky to have a "good" CBB. But let's say I didn't have him yet and instead I had a few hundred of those pests.... I would shock myself and anything else if it meant the death of those things! I would want one that shoots out some kind of cool lightning bolt though. Will never be able to stab those things.... too fast for me... Wish you luck with that new contraption.

must admit, ive been curious about these, but there are so many very easy ways to kill aptasia anyways, I never really wanted to invest the cash into one

I may be wrong, but putting or using electric in your water doesn't sound very healthy for your fish.
I know we have pumps and power heads but they are insulated and protected.
just saying, lol

I believe the current is low enough that even with the conductivity of the water the damage is only at the actual contact point of the device. Don't get me wrong, I am sure everything in the tank feels a tickle when its being used, but I doubt there is any risk.

I do have a concern however about oxidization of the contact tip after so many uses. Seeing it bubble like it did in the video leads me to wonder how many times you would be able to use it before you had to give it a good rub down with some sand paper.

I wrote the manufacturer about mushrooms and he said he had not tried it himself, but customers had reported it works on them.

Heres the feedback I've heard so far:

Works great on big aiptasia, not so on small.
Most aiptasia can't be reached by the zapped, but you can drip aiptasia x on them.
Works on shrooms
Works on majanos
Somewhat fragile

Based on this, I will likely see about getting one.
Who wants to be the tester???? Lol.

If you want to try one don't waste the money...build one. Stupidly simple...yes they are safe...but they only work if you actually get the aptasia....if nto, they spit out spores and you end up with more. On mushrooms they don;t exactly kill them but knock them back a bunch to control them. I stopped using it on aptasia completely...Apstasia X works much better.

I nominate Steve (Glazner) to test it. He doesnt have many but the aiptasia he has are some monster, and I mean MONSTER aiptasia. LoL I think he is willing to give it a shot.
