I'm assuming you're looking at the finnex t5 fixtures?
Those don't have the individual reflectors needed to produce the maximum light output for the t5's.
Look into the sunlight supply t5 fixtures.

what I am figuring is get them and if I dont like a total set of 8 which means two quads 39x4 then I can always change the reflectors to something else but from what I have seen that is a decent price for the money

If you add in the cost of the relectors to change you might as well get a nice Tek/IC setup.
