Has anyone plumbed their tank outside the house?

I am setting up a 240 in NY. The tank is in the corner of the house against two outside walls. I was thinking, to eliminate noise and heat, I could place the return pump, the ballasts for the Metal halides and vho's, and the UPS outside in a water proof, vented box. I am just not sure what will happen when it is cold outside or hot outside. The box would be shaded. The pump would be about 18 to 20 inches max from the sump.

What does anyone think. The tank will be on a slab so there is no basement.

I had pumps and chiller outside before I moved and took that tank down. For noise control it was excellent!

Exterior (exciting, it's a box!)

Added vents to each end, using a window screen 'kit'

The guts (two Iwaki pumps, antique chiller, and a fan)

That is exactly what I was looking for. The only problem is that I am in NY and have temperature extremes. I think I need to insulate for hte winter and vent for the summer. My sump will be under the tank. I want to put my pumps and metal halide ballasts outside.
Thanks

You will need insulation, heat and backup power. But it cold be done.

Use regular building construction(like a small addition) and insulate it well.
