Has anyone read this?

I did read it but then didn't do it.

I am building a sump in a 30g tank. I have the tools to cut acrylic, etc. So I thought great I can do it all my self.

But then I happened to call the local glass store and started asking about cutting glass pieces. The fellow told me to bring the tank in and he'll cut me the pieces while I wait there. I have to only then go back home and silicone them in place. I haven't done this yet, but that's what I'm planning.

Should work. There's not much pressure to hold back in the sump and even if a little bit of water is sneaking past it's not a big deal.

There's some other posts here that talk about using silicone to hold the acrylic in place. Those people reported that the silicone doesn't stick to the acrylic, but after it hardens, it sort of holds the acrylic in place anyways.
