Have any of you guys had achilles tangs?

NeveSSL

Got tubes?
???

Yes, the ones at the Aquarium Restaurant inspired me. :D

Here is some more info. They seem to be a bit finnicky and expensive, but man they're beautiful! I'm obviously not going to put one in my 45g  but I'm thinking of the future. ;)

Thanks!

Brandon

I wanted one once, but turned my back on it once I find out how mean it can be to other tank mates, but if you search on here. There is a guy that keeps one in his tank, the guy that did the DIY rock formation in his tank. He says that the Achillies Tang keeps everyone in check, it's the master of the tank. Just remember, they can grow rather large and need LOTS of space for swimming room!!! They are also harder to keep then some of the tangs since they tend to get ich easily as well from what I've read before....Good Luck!

Thanks Michael... I won't be getting it any time soon. It would probably be going into a 240 or something similar. :)

I just hope they don't go through the roof price wise until then! :)

CHECK AND SEE IF JASON HAS ONE, HE WAS EYEING ONE AT THE 'AQUARIUM' PRETTY HARD. I THINK HIS COAT POCKET WAS BULGING A LITTLE ON THE SIDE WHEN HE LEFT.HAHAHA:)

anyone remember the site that had reef videos? There was one guy who had a 150 I think? It was a 4'x2' divider setup. I think it was "carls reef" maybe? Anyways, I remember him havin' a bunch of tangs in there and had one of these as well. Very unique lookin' fish.

I've seen them do well in a 110 gal for a few years but the system needs to be mature and have plenty of rock for them to pick at. I've wanted one ever since I started looking at fish to add but it will be sometime down the road before it's a realistic possibility.

Wellp... sounds like I'm not the only one dreamin' of achilles. :)

One day, fellas, one day.

Thanks for the tip on that video, Steve. I'll go see what I can find.
