I have a mature PC Rainbow colony growing near a smaller acro colony. I think it's called creamsicle or something like that. Yellowish body, blue tips, orange polyps.
Anyway, all was well until one of the Rainbow branches touched a branch on the other colony. That branch on the other colony bleached out pretty quickly so I snapped it off.
The next morning the area on the base near the broken off branch was bleached.
Fast forward 24 hours later... The whole colony was gone. The PC is still fine, but the smaller acro colony got completely nuked.
I've had plenty of SPS touch and bleach the spot where they make contact, but I've never seen an entire colony get "poisoned".
Is this common?
