Hello

want to know if anyone has seen these angels at their LFS. If so, what did they want for them?

They usually have to be special ordered from what I hear. PetBalloon in Osaka has them listed on their site, but no pictures and currently out of stock.

Forgot to add that the price I saw from them is about $12K US. (It's the most expensive fish you can get from what I hear.)

Yes, Tokyo Sun Marine in Edogawa-ku, Tokyo had a single specimen on sale about 18 months ago. It was priced at 200,000 yen (and at that price, it's probably still there!!).

All kidding aside, I know that peppermints are difficult to keep, but the shop had this one in a 24x12x15 tank with lots of live rock, pods etc. I saw it there several times over a 3 month period and it was in great condition.

Not seen any more since though.

only 20man? dude, I'm surprised no one bought it yet! I rechecked the Pet Balloon site and it's 200man there now! (Still sold out, of course)

Drat, there goes my easy 180man resale profit plan.

Sunmarine is a pretty nice store. I've only been once though, since it's a pain to get to, and if I'm going to spend an hour going anywhere, I prefer Tiara.

What part of Tokyo do you live in, Matt?

I work in Chiyoda-ku (Marunouchi), but live in Minato-ku (Azabu).

I've been to Natural, but it must have been a bad day, since I thought their stuff didn't look all that nice and the staff wasn't very helpful. When I wanted to buy a pink chijimitosaka, they admitted that their specimens looked bad because they didn't give it enough light, but that some good light should bring it back to life. It's pretty hard to find chijimi in pink, so I bought this in wishful thinking despite the high price that they refused to bring down. (They seemed pretty confident that it would come back to life.) It mostly melted away to nothing, but it wasn't all for naught. It has grown back a bit and I now have a mini-pink chijimitosaka that is super healthy since it grew in my tank's conditions. I wasn't planning to go back though.

But if you consider it that nice, I am always willing to give it a second look. I live off the nanboku line, so it's pretty convenient to get to.

Interesting.

I've neer had a prob there. But I've been a regular for the last 4 years. I always thought the Chijimitosaka (apart form the purple or brown ones) were impossible to keep so have never bought one.

Natural is great for SPS. If you go there again, tell them you know Matt. Who helps you out when you got here? There are 2-3 part-time staff but Shingo san (young guy with spikey hair, smoker) is always good for advice/chatting. As is the owners gilrfriend.

If you don't mind me asking who do you work for? My brother works in Marunouchi (yes we all like the UK so much we moved to Japan!). Pleae feel free to move this to PM if you want.
