Havent seen or heard my pistol shrimp :-(

On Friday i bought a watchman goby and a randall pistol shrimp (not paired at LFS) and since releasing them i have not seen or heard the shrimp! the goby has found a cave and hasn't really moved but no signs at all of the shrimp, no mounds or tunnels. Do you think its still alive? Is there any way of coaxing him out?

I didn't see a sign of mine for almost a week until I shined a light in and he was in with the goby. Even now with all of his digging I still only see him about once a week. Don't give up hope yet.

Can you look through the bottom of your tank from underneath? I can usually find mine at night with a flashlight from the bottom.

You're lucky if you see pistol shrimp once a month. Just the way they are. Keep an eye out for sandbed rising and intense excavation.

Thanks for your replies I wont give up hope just yet! Just worrying not seeing any excavation or hearing any 'popping'. Unfortunately dayson i can't look under the tank but we will be moving the fish into a bigger tank in the next week. Hopefully we can find him then!
