Having a hard time trying to epoxy my Monti!

I have a monti about 5" in diameter and tried using Marineland Hold Fast w/o success. I have scrubbed the rock and base of the coral and it will not hold. I tried propping up the Monti with some rock as well waiting 24+ hours for the epoxy to cure and it still falls off!!

Any tips would be great. I did a search on the site with no luck

switch glue/epoxy...i mounted a cap with the Tunze coral fix the other day and man does that stuff hold....it took a while to dry but it holds

Use the epoxy AND super glue. Mix the epoxy as usual but put a little super glue on the epoxy where you stick it to the coral. Then put some more super glue on the bottom of the epoxy and place the coral where you want it. Press it down good and you're done.

Can it be done in the water? or do I need to remove the rock (which would suck! btw.) from the tank along w/ the monti? I dont want to hurt the coral.

I make a ball out of the epoxy. Then I put a dab og superglue gel on the ball and stick it to the coral. Then I put a dab of the superglue gel on the other side of the epoxy ball and stick it to the rock I want it glued to . The whole process takes about a minute or two. You do not have to remove the rock from the tank. when you put the glue on the bottom of the epoxy and put it into the tank, the superglue gets a film over it. just push it gently onto the rock to break the film and it will stick the epoxy to the rock in just a few seconds. Works every time!

one other thing I recommend it to wipe the bottom of the monti with paper towel and dry it a little that way the glue will stick better. This has worked for me and I have not had any problems at all.

Montipora are extremely good at sliming at inopportune moments. I recommend using the superglue gel(large amount) on the coral and then putting it where you want it if you can't take the rock out. This may help make it stick.
