Having home windows installed

I am having my home windows on Monday
One of the windows is right near my 120.
What is the best way for the tank not to dip below comfortable levels?

Wont be an issue if you have your heaters on a controller. I would ask them to do the window closest to your tank forst. If you have a space heater sit it near the tank if possible. I had mine done during the heat of the summer and used a fan on a temp controller to cool it down in case tank temp rose.

windows installed, they did an awesome job, got the window by the tank up first and fast with minimum temp flux
Who did your windows? I need some replaced in the house we just bought. I've got a quote from Window World, but would love a couple others.

I need new replacement windows as well but am afraid of the cost. You have a ballpark number? Isnt there an energy tax credit you can receive also?

The quote we got from Window World for 7 standard sized windows was around $2500.

You can spend a ton more than that depending on how fancy you want your windows. The $2500 version from WW is just a standard double hung, dual pane, vinyl window. My wife likes those grid things in the windows too, and that's an additional cost.

It just all depends on what you like and what you're willing to spend.

I'm not sure about the energy tax credit. I know we got one a few years ago when we did this at our other house, but I'm not sure if there's still one out there now or not.

Chaney Windows and Doors did my windows. had 9 windows done, all but 2 had grids, 2 of them sliding (rest double hung), $3500ish

I had window world come out and they said $3800 but they where like 2 months out and I heard bad things about them. So I asked some of my contractor buddies and they all said Chaney.

Im sure there is a Tax credit, I got some when I did my attic insulation last year.

I was told the same thing about the timing for WW. Two months minimum before they could install.

I'll have to call Cheney and get a quote.

Jill and I had WW install ours. 3 grand total. We have two huge picture windows in the front that counted as multiple windows and 4 normal size .We had the upgraded glass put in since our house faces south and we get sun in the front all day. I can say I would recommend them as they were professional and took care of everything in one day. They did have a wait but I forget how long. Ive had them come out and replace the big picture window in the front because a seal was broken and there was some moisture getting between the panes. They came out within 2 weeks and replaced it free of charge .
