Having issue wit the skimmer

i have a Instant Ocean SeaClone Protein Skimmer it was a gift from a friend. i had it since before summer started. Well when i was doing water change, cleaning the skimmer n when i put it together. It end up producing lot of micro bubble in the 56g dt. i even adjust the intake but didn't make much difference. i guess my questions: 1. How long can the tank last without being filter?
2. What is the issue with the skimmer? need more info i will be happy to provide it.

new water from WC's and cleaning the skimmer can make them go nuts.

give it a little time

I've used alot of skimmers but not the seaclone.

If the seaclone doesn't perform well for you, there are many better options out there for your DT.
