I hope you've been saving for some time! :)

Amazing.

The box fish which you seem to have changed your mind on (have you?)
Iv wanted a hawk fish for a while but everything I reads say it will, if not at fist, eat the shrimp

you are right. I keep going back and forth on the box fish. Yes I think I will do the longnose hawk fish, as they seem to pretty safe with the larger shrimp. Anyone with the box fish care to comment?

We kept a hawk in one of our tanks with a fire and four cleaners it was fine. The shrimp were not small however and Had LOTS of cover. I LOVE our dwarf golen moray. . . they are very interesting to watch and we found him on ebay for a steal.

Ok, so after much research it looks like the blue spotted boxfish is forever off the list:(, Just not a good fit for this tanks. And yes I will have a golden dwarf, hopefully a pair:)

Ok, so while I await my stand being finished, I have revised my fish list somewhat. I have decided that I would like to be able to have some Hawaiian type corals, namely montipora verrucosa and pocillopora damicornis or maybe acropora nasuta in stead. as well as some zoas and tubastrea sp. and maybe a fungia or 2. so with that in mind here is my new list;

Potters
Flame angel

So which wrasses on this list would be the best fit for the tank
Flame wrasse
Fourline wrasse or fiveline wrasse
Potters wrasse
Eelgant coris wrasse
Ornate wrasse

Bluestrip BF
Racoon BF
Milletseed BF
Tinker's BF
Pyramid BF
Longnose BF

Blackfin Chromis
Curious worm fish
Indigo dart fish
Fantail file fish
Earle's anthias
Longnose hawkfish
Lantern Toby
Goldrim hybrid Tang
Kole tang
Yellow tang
Dwarf moray
Trimma or eviota goby
Manta ray (just seeing if you are paying attention)LOL

Thanks for looking over the list

I would not put any lined wrasses in except the pink-streak wrasse also called secretive wrasse...even that would be a may be. Lined wrasses don't mix well with other wrasses

Acropora nusata is not found in the main Hawaiian islands - only the Northwestern islands. Not sure if that matters to you, as technically it's still found there. How about Porites spp.? Porites is everywhere in Hawaii.

You need a convict tang in a Hawaiian tank!I would not get any lined wrasse in either, keep us updated, can not wait to see its progress :D

So you must be read the Fenner book as I am. do you island guys/girl know of any type of softies or leathers I could put in the tank?
Thanks

You can also check out marinelifephotography. Keoki has a fairly large database of inverts and fish etc found in Hawaii. As for coral, there is very little choices down here. Softies can include zoas, palys, blue cloves (don't know if you wanna add them lol), sinularia, couple types of gorgonians, and.. Well that's about all that I can think of off the top of my head.

Ok, stand is done. Tank will be drilled and painted next week I hope. Doing a mock setup in the garage on the sump system starting this week. All rock is cycled. Inch by Inch.
