Hawaiian Flame Wrasse QT Process

I am a bit concern with my male Hawaiian flame wrasse after treating my QT with Seachem Paraguard. There is a Regal Angel that is also in QT with the pair of flame wrasse and showing signs of flukes. Before treating with Paraguard, the male flame wrasse was eating. Now he just hide in the PVC pipe and does not come out to eat. I was going to continue with the Paraguard treatment but decided to stop for now. Are these guys sensitive to medication?

Here is what I had in mind with the 4-5 weeks QT process. Introduce fish first week and just let them adjust to tank life and eating. Then dose with paraguard for about 5 days to rid of any external parasites. After that go into a 2 weeks cupramine treatment for ich prevention.

Is it true that flame wrasse do not handle copper well? I am a little paranoid with diseases since I lost half of my fish and had to go through a long ordeal to remove all fish and left the DT fallow for 2 months. I don't want to go through that again. If anyone has insight and can give me a better QT process to get these fish into the DT healthy and happy, I would much appreciate it.

Ever fish I own goes through the same QT process. I place the fish in one of my 55g QT tanks and observe it for 2-4 days. I ensure that it is able to eat and understands theat the food being offered to it. Once I see the fish eat I typically treat with a half dosage of cupramine and half dosage of prazi pro. I let the tank stand for 1-2 days and then redose once I know the fish is ok.

Every fish has different tolerancies to medication depending on general health from capture and shippment. It is never a gold idea to just start medication right away as many fish tend to have a decreased appetite.

My 5 flame wrasse went through 5 weeks of .5 copper and 2 rounds of prazi. All are doing just fine.

Good to hear that someone has owned flame wrasse and put the fish through copper treatment before. I am not starting any further medication until I see the male flame wrasse eating again.
