HD Reef Videos

The lights are 250 HQI DE Phoenix 14ks. There are currently two on my 8 foot tank in Lumenmax 3 pendants running off a dual electronic SLS Galaxy Ballast in the 2 and 4 spot.

Tomorrow or Monday I'll be picking up two Lumenarcs running off 2 Electronic Icecaps with a second pair of Phoenix Bulbs for the 1 and 3 spots. I'll also be lowering all the lights by 3-4 inches.

It's actually brighter than it looks in the first video.
Even though it's a softie dominated, I have the two pendants a bit high right now to maximize the spread.

Anemonebuff- Thank you. There are two Koralia 4s and one Koralia Magnum 8 in the back pushing 3200GPH- it's a mini-beast. ;)

Marsfrogie- Did you look at all the videos? The first one looks a bit dull. The second two you can see a bit better, but remember, the lights are a bit high. Also, I think the Galaxy ballasts burn the Phoenix a bit whiter.

I'm also still learning the camera, so the color tones might be a bit off. The Acro in the third picture has awesome purple tips, but it didn't seem to translate well.

You only run 2 on an 8' tank?

When my lights go I plan on using 2x 250 watt pheonix bulbs. My only fear is that they wouldn't cover the 6' length.

3 are ideal for a 125. You can run 2 for a short period of time, but this is entirely dependent on what you keep.

Like I said, by the beginning of next week my tank will have 4 250 watters on it with a 12 inch water line. It's a bit overkill but you can't beat the coverage and look. I also plan on a shortened photoperiod of 5-6 hours.

I know, but what bugs me is that I am planning a custom tank 48x30x18 and it will use 2x250 watt pheonix bulbs on an Icecap ballast. I really do not want to have to get three and sell one off later. I could always raise the 2x250s a little higher and spread tem over 6' for a while.
