Heads on Frogspawn dieing

I have had this frogspawn for about eight months. It has grown from two heads to seven . Several days ago one of the heads just died for no apparent reason. Then all the heads on that branch began to not open very much. Fearing that I would loose the whole thing, I divided the two main branches. The branch that lost the first head has lost another, both being the last heads to form. They just withered and detached from the skeleton. The other two heads although not dead don't fill up much. the other branch, with three heads seems to be OK. When all this started I checked all my parameters and did a water change, although not due for one. My calcium level was low (300) but I'm not sure if that could be the problem. Any thoughts?

No changes in flow. I did put in new bulbs, but they were all done several days apart to allow for adjustment.

It could be the new bulbs, were they MH's?I bought a frogspawn that I didn't acclimate to the new lighting and 4 heads were dead within 24hrs.

I acclimated my Torch using screen used for windows and layered it over the tank and its happy as can be now with full lighting.
