What is the chance of my blueface angel looking perfect again. It got a descent case of hlle from the hypo and copper treatment in the tank for velvet. And what can i do to help him look better. Thanks!

They can completely heal. It's not relatd to hypo or copper. It's diet related and high nitrates can aggravate it. You have to feed it Red Gracilaria or Ulva macroalgae. It will disapear once these issues are cleared up.

I've seen copper cause it in other tanks as well as with my own fish.

But the advice is good on how to fix it. Clean water and a varied diet with frequent feedings should tame it down. One of my longnose butterflies got a decent case of it during copper treatment, but he looks better every week. It's hardly noticeable now a couple months later. There might always be remnants of it depending on how bad the case was, but I'd say it should improve with time. Being an angel I'd try to get it some sponge, too.

i asked about a sohal tang with this condition and some recomended selcon been using for about 5 days now and im seeing some improvement already should help all fish

I'm not certain that copper does it - I would venture to believe that when folks experience HLLE in a copper treated QT - it's because of poor water quality. I've QT'd over 30 fish with copper, and only had HLLE start on 2 fish, interestingly enough in a Qtank that wasn't cycled properly and had excess ammonia - upon moving those fish to another QT tank (copper treated) with a proper filter, it cleared right up.

HLLE will clear up on it's own, but you need to maintain pristine water and a proper diet of vitamin and amino acid enriched food. Nori should be provided daily as it's nutritional value far surpasses most other frozen or flake food.

HLLE can be caused by so many factors.

The most common is vitamin deficiency, this can be solved by complete foods & good water condition.

If it's coming from a bactery then you don't know the issue.

PS : Check also if you have some active carbon, some of them are reputed to create HLLE even if it has not been scientifically proven.

As for the copper and hypo.It was done in my main tank so the water quality was fairly good.I only had a small issue with an ammonia spike because of brislte worm die off.But i took care of it quickly. It might of caused it alo.As for feeding.I feed selcon, zoa, garlic, vitamin c and beta glucan pills with all my food.
