WOW~!!!! nice sebae.. and id say it's healthy.. i can say your the first if seen post a pic on here of their sebae that isn't white with purple or blue tips!.. VERY NICE!---- far as feeding wise id feed it some silversides; but remember cut them in half so it's not too much on the anemone.

I don't ever recall seeing a sebae with a purple base, that's a cool looking sebae. I always thought sebae anems had creamy or white colored bases with pronounced verniculae (or whatever that darn word is).

That is very interesting. Do you know how long it was at the store before you bought it?
The bright pink base makes me think that maybe it was dyed completely pink at one time, but has now faded so that only the pink base remains. Other than that it looks pretty good. I would be interested to know if the base is still pink in a couple months.

If you are having trouble getting it to eat, I like to get a package of "mixed seafood" from the grocery store. It usually contains shrimp, squid and scallops. Scallops have always been a "go to" food when my anemones are not eating, but try different things, until you find something it likes. Once they start eating most anemones aren't very picky.

whoo.... I just fed my sebae, and it seems that it eats mysis shrimps. I fed it a cube of frozen mysis, and it seemed to take them, although slowly and i had to turn off the powerhead. It stung them, but my cinammon from the other side of the tank ripped out half the shrimp from out of its mouth. It ended up taking about 20 min. to finish half the cube. Is this ok or healthy behavior? Thnx again!

oh and 1 more thing, how much current does he need, because there's a powerhead kinda behind him that blows at the front glass and makes him like quiver in the current. Should i move him farther out of the jetstream?

Making it quiver in the current is about right. It wasn't clear, but make sure you thaw out the mysis in a small cup on tank water then use a turkey baster to blow the mysis into the anemones tentacles.

is there a way i can get it to hold onto the shrimp tighter or do i have to catch my clowns, because the percs AND my cinnamon from across the tank shoot over to rip the mysis off of him 0_0

Don't change your anemone's location. If it doesn't like it... it WILL move.

Feed your fish first. Once they are fed, that should minimize their attempts to steal food, they may even feed the anemone. Don't feed your anemone so much. Initially, a few pieces of mysis well-thawed at tank water temp every other day. Once the anemone's adhesiveness comes back fully, you should be able to switch to thawed krill. The fact your clowns are in it alreay is a really good thing. Anemones survival rate is much greater the sooner the clowns host.

I've seen a few color variants like yours usually coming from the Vietnam region. You'll need good lighting to keep this coloration. Most will revert back to grayish-green with blue/purple tips in a couple months. I have a buddy running 400W Radiums with VHO Actinic and his held the color yours has.

I feed my fish when I get home from school with a syringe, and then at about 4pm I feed my anemone with a similar syringe. She ends up getting about 6 pieces of a brine/mysis mix.

Don't mean to hijack but whats the best placement... I have a Saebae as well, and he simply sits on the sand bed, Should it be attached to anything?
