Heat issue with Tunze???

RVITKO,

I have a quick question, since their is a big difference in watts between the 6100 and the 6000 are the transformers what drive the heat?

Are the transformers external outside of the tank? Or are they fitted inside the powerhead?

The reason I ask is that from the pictures it appears that the transformer is external and thus they generate no heat in the tank.

Can you clarify this up for me?

Thanks,

MG

The transformers are external and yes, you lose more outside in the transformer on the bigger unit but the 6100 will still be slightly hotter than a 6000. To put it in perspective, a 6100 will raise the temp in a 180 about 1-2 degree running full power so it is pretty nominal.

Whoa a 6100 will raise a 180 1-2 degrees .......This means I am adding 3-6 degrees just with the 3 6100's in my tank and close to double that with 2 6200's.

Hmm.....thats got me thinking now.

It is not a simple calculation, I gave a worse case scenario. We generally factor each 6100 raises the tank temp 1 degree C per 400L if it is run constant at full power and the ambient temp is 25C.
