Heat sinks on LDD drivers?

Necessary? They feel awful warm to the touch. I have them running open air on top of the canopy. What is recommended?

Thanks,

Based on data sheet up to 70C they don't care about heat. At 71C they shut down under 600+mA loads. So, unless it shuts down on you i would say it doesn't need any extra cooling.

+1 to the above quote. Unless the LDD's are being smothered or insulated in some way that causes them to retain their heat, don't worry about them.

Perfect. They're on 4-up boards sitting on top of the canopy. No shut downs at all.

Thanks guys!
