Heat wave

I hope this is not a sign of what's to come for the rest of the summer.

How is everyone's tank holding up during the first heat wave?

My car temp gauge read 105 but I find that hard to believe.

Not that hard, those temperature gauges do tend to over estimate the temperature when the car has been sitting in the sun for a while.

But is it a hot out there? It's a really nice day in SF so it must be hot everywhere else :D

My tank is at 83.1 F Hopefully it doesnt get much hotter. how long are you keeping your lights on for?

100 degrees up here already and the temp won't peak for a little while longer. You guys wanna send that delta breeze our way already!

As a long term former non-SF resident let me just tell you:

It's not polite to taunt the folks that don't live here.

:D

Got my 1/3hp chiller hookup last night for my 375g tank.

I might have a CL-650 1/4hp chiller available for sale soon. I used it on my 90g for 1yr befor the tank upgrade.

My what a nice day, I'm on vacation for the next 2 days and driving in the sun with window and sun roof open... SWEEEET....

I'm not taunting, I'm genuinely questioning the heat wave because it's not even hot for SF standards here. :)

oh neaner neaner neaner :D

according to our car thermometer (while moving on the freeway, NOT while sitting in a parking lot or in traffic) read 105 (ouch) and weather dot com was reporting 104 for our area by the time we got home. At 7 PM it still reports 100 (and I just came in from outside...it definitely feels like it). :(

Daytime lights on for four hours = 78.5 degrees.
I guess evaporation isn't enough now. I'll have to hook up my chiller. And, I guess I have my motivation to drill my sump and run an in-line pump. My two magdrives aren't helping any. :P

^^Danville huh? Where at? My wife grew up in Danville/San Ramon. You guys and your cool weather.... i miss it, i think it's almost time to move back to the bay.

OT: Any of you guys know a guy named Sean Martindale? He's the guy that started me on this habit in the first place. He used to live in Alamo / Walnut Creek.

It was 101 degrees in San Ramon yesterday. My tank made it up to 82.5deg. Only cooling is fans over the sump.

mine went up to 82.3 yesterday, and my ACjr turned off my Lighting. I went to walgreens last night for a fan to run over the surface of the water. I really see the difference in heat between 2 Mini Lumi, and a 150 watt sunpod.
