Wich will cause more heat? A 175 watt hallide or 4 95 watt vhos.As far as the tank water temp.

The halide will produce more heat, but with a fan the temp of the water shouldnt be a problem with either.

I promise you 380 watts will produce more heat than 175 watts.

You were right.I only ran my 1 hallide today and the temp was at 83 versus 79 with the vhos.

Heat disspation is different for a halide as opposed to VHO.
