Is there a more logical solution than using 4 x 300 watt heaters controlled by my Reefkeeper 2?

Do you use an auto fish feeder? I need a very reliable and awesome one. Money is not an issue on this, as I have bought so many crappy feeders for like $40 that I am just sick of it.

Cyclops Eeze frozen.....do you use it and is it worth the money? The only frozen I currently use is mysis shrimp, in addition to their regular flake and pellets.

I feed cyclops Eeze and my fish love it, and sps extend polyps, and will get Lps tenticles out before i put the big chunks in and target feed them.

It sells in a huge brick i dont use much ( 29g. Display 50g system) but even w/ the size of your tank it should last you a while.

Heater and auto feeder im not sure.

I've never bought any expensive fish feeders, only the cheaper ones and I can't think of what you'd use to heat a tank that big, so I'm no help there :)

As for the fish food, I'd definitely start feeding a marine based frozen food that will have lots of omegas in them vs. mysis, which is from freshwater and is basically just a source of protein, but more of a treat than good nutrition for your marine fish. The talk at the Fall Girs fest about nutrition was excellent; maybe it's available for GIRS members to watch, as I know it was recorded.

I feel Rod's frozen food, some mysis and rotifers, btw a couple times a week, along with the dried seaweed and pellets and flakes daily.

Why would you need so many heaters, is your house kept really cool? I have a 400 and I use 2 250w heaters on a controller and it's more than enough.

Thanks for all your help everyone.

My sump (100+ gallons) is in the basement and it is pretty cold down there. I would say about 50-60 degrees at the most.

And I have T5 lighting that doesn't put out a lot of heat.

I am keeping my tank stable at 79F but as I said I need four heaters.

As for heaters I think you are doing the right thing, I would rather use four little ones than 1 or 2 big ones. That way if one sticks on it's not going to heat your system up much. Since you have a 100 gallons down in your basement another option that I use is a 400w MH bulb that I use for frags in my sump on reverse time of my main tanks. This way I'm able to grow out corals as well as heat the tank. It maintains stable temps doing this. I also have 2x200w heaters to substitute if it gets too cold. Another bonus is it keeps the PH up and constant.

Feeders are tough all of them suck, the ones with the built in heater seem to work OK.

Cyclops EEZ is good stuff, a little goes a long ways.
