Heater for Stream Filter 3163

Hi!
I have a 100W Aquarium Systems heater that fits the 3163 perfectly, it's the same size as the 50W unit. I was wondering if I can use it since the recommendation in the manual says 75W max.

I will use the filter in a 60 gallon tank, so there shouldn't be any issue with it overheating the tank. Do you think the filter can take the 25W difference?
I understand there's the issue of warranty, but heater-related problems are excempt anyway afaik. I just don't want to use it if you say it WILL melt the plastic or sth similar.

Thanks, Alex

Alex,

I could not give you a definitive answer as I don't know, I assume the size was based on the heat affecting the plastic and what would fit from most brands. I would email the main office in Germany for a definitive response- info at tunze.com

I just wanted to give some feedback if someone has the same question: even though it is not recommended ;) the 100W heater works without issue in the filter.
