Heater just went and I leaving for vaca.

I just came home to a tank at about 98 degrees, because the heater went heywire. I'm leaving for vacation on Sat. at 6am, so I don't really have enough time to but a good heater on-line. Does anybody know were to find a good heater at a LFS, or does anybody have one that there selling? Please respond ASAP. Here's my phone number, and I live in Valencia.

Print off the size with the price, and they will usually pricematch the internet price in the store for you.

Thats the easiest way to get a quick fix. Otherwise you can order from Big Al's they normally ship via niagra area to its pretty fast

I like these also, but never, ever trust the crappy themostat that is built in to these. Best be is to get something like a visi therm and a ranco controller. You can pick one up for about $65 used and never have to worry about what just happened to you.

I agree with raynist, but since you are in a hurry:
I have had very good luck with the unbreakable Rena smartheaters, believe it or not. I don't use them as flow through, just drop them in a high flow part of the sump.
I'd buy two undersized heaters, instead of one large.

Way too many broken or leaking glass tube style to go that route ever again.
