Heaters for 300gallons.

Hey. I'm trying to watch watts so I don't have breakers popping on me and heaters are big watt items. Any suggestions on heaters for 300 gallons?

Also I was thinking about ecotech MP60s and "œin-line" pumps to keep heat out, but now I'm rethinking as it seems easier to use 70 watts to run a fan than 500 watts periodically to heat it up?

Glass tank planned btw.

If you're worried about breakers popping then running smaller heaters spread across a few circuits is your best bet, I would say 3 circuits, 300watts of heater per, probably would be good. Of course there are a whole lot of unknowns, if you have your sump area in an unheated garage or cold basement then just sign your paycheck directly over to your local power company :D

And yeah, 60watt pump in the tank, that's basically a free 60 watt heater that you get additional use out of.

Thanks. I'm going to check which outlets are on which breakers tomorrow. Here's to hoping the three are all on different breakers. And yeah, I'll keep the return submerged in Sump for heat and the powerheads in tank for heat. Three 300 W heaters sounds like a good idea. Sump is under tank in the house but it is slab on grade and there is a fireplace (sort of drafty) in the room and near a sliding glass door.
