Heaters?

I have not had a heater on my tank in a long long long time. Figured I would narrow the temp range I am currently getting on my tank.

So how would I size a heater and what is a good heater to use?

titanium heaters are more reliable and accurate. 100G i would suggest at least 250 watt. they cost a little more than conventional tank heaters, but not much when you cosider the fact they last twice as long if not more. i foung mine at Petsmart, it was twice as cheap as my LFS. good luck, have a great day.

Ditto on the titanium heater. Be sure and get one that has the remote temp adjuster outside the tank.

I just bought a Finnex 300wat titainium heater for my tank this week, and it is awsome. With the controler it will cost you $45 at premium aquatics. I will never buy another glass heater ever.

I have used the Finnex heaters for a long time. Most of mine are still working from 4 years ago.

Just as a note though, I've not found a titanium heater that I'd really trust the temp controller on. I'd put it on a separate controller if I were you.

I'd suggest the Ranco controllers, if all you want is a temp controller. This place has them at a good cost.
Temp controllers

Ranco controllers are rebranded and sold with Aqualogic chillers, some of the best on the market. If you get a dual stage controller, you can control both heaters and chillers/fans.

If you are looking for a controller solution with more capabilities I'd get a Reefkeeper.

Digital Aquatics

I've got one of the original Reefkeepers from them. It runs at $219 for the original, maybe $50 more for the Reefkeeper 2. I've been thinking about getting the new one, so if someone wants to make an offer on my old one, perhaps I can be persuaded to part with it
