heating

how are you heating these larger volumes of water. I am upgrading to about 500 gallons from 300 and was wondering whats the best way to do it. I did a search in this section and nothing came up.. there has to be better way than using a bunch of 300w visitherms or alike.

There are a couple of threads where someone tied into their hot water boiler which I still think I'll do one day but yes, redundant 300W heaters off a controller. works fine.

Thanks for your replies. I ended up putting a few more tube style ones in but I find it hard to believe there isnt a better way. The hot water tank heater idea is interesting but 30% of a homes energy comsumption is heating hot water so that probly isnt the best way either... at least not cost wise

Well its very cold outside and the tank is down a few degrees as well.. anymore suggestions ?

My new system will be around 600 with frag tanks, I need a good idea for this also
