Take a look at a pair of Reefi uno 2. Get 2 for the cost of an xr30. better spectrum, 3yr warranty.

Why not just get a 30 gallon or so to have for now…you could use it as a quarantine tank when you get into the house and your big display.

That is what I did and was perfect. Able to transfer that life to a 300 gal when finished house and plumbed it in. 30 can be a great distraction with out being overwhelmed.
