height of collection cup

im looking at a purchase of the 9002 nano skimmer. i need to know how far above the water line the skimmer sits. i have a custom canopy and only have 5.5 - 6 inches of room above my water line to the top of the canopy. can the collection cup be shortened?

The cup is just under 4" tall, in addition about 3/4" of the skimmer sits above the water surface so you need roughly 5" from the water surface. You will have to remove the canopy to remove the cup as the cup sticks into the skimmer 3" so another 3" is needed for cup removal.

perfect. those numbers will work for me. my canopy is hinged so access wont be a problem.... now to find a vendor.
