Hi everyone thank you for reading.
Basically I am worried that my metal halide bulb and T5 actinics may be too high up, possibly not lighting my clams enough. I made a beautiful long pendant for my set up but couldn't get the time to have it hung up, so I made a makeshift 4 legs for the "pendant" to stand on. I do plan on getting the pendant strung, so it has the ability to go up and down, not on a fixed height.
Currently the bulb hangs about 12 inches from the water and the clams are about 8 to 10 inches below the water line. I have a XM 10K 250 watt Metal Halide with 2X39 watt HO T5's (one a true actinic and the other a blue plus).
What I am worried about is over extension of the mantle of my clams. Still being a bit new to the clam tank, I am mostly research with little experience so I know about possible problems but am inexperienced at identifying them when viewed.
Thanks!
