Height of the Tunze 9002 skimmer cup.

Three questions please.

1. From the top of the tank edge. How tall does this skimmer cup stick up? I am wondering if it will fit under a light hood.

2.Can the skimmer be mounted with the 4.9 inch edge against the glass or does it have to be mounted with the 2.1 inch edge against the glass?

3.If it has to be mounted the way the diagram shows, then what is the distance the cup reaches out, over the tank?

1. If you have 5" from the water surface you won't have any trouble. Except that maintanence may be a chore with the hood.

2. It has to have the 2.1" side mounted to the tank but you could mount it on the side of the tank rather than the back to change the profile.

3. The cup top will be 4.75" from the surface of the water.

Thank you so much for the reply, now let the hood design get started. Too bad that it cannot be mounted with the other side to the back, I think it would allow more options for placement.

I seem to recall we used to do it that way on the old 3110 and I think we changed because it made a problem with routing the cable and the cup placement. It was at least 4-5 years ago and I can't remember why we abandoned that design only, it was a good reason.
