hello i have diatoms in my tank

Depending on the amount and size your pellets could be the issue.
I stopped feeding pellets and went to all frozen because of the pellets being so dirty (well in my opinion anyways)

I switched to the San Francisco Bay saltwater multi pack.. fish go nuts for it..I get a combo of flavors for them..

I also got a few fish that won't touch pellets (2 banggai Cardinals.. 2 scooter blennys..and a long nose hawk)
So that kinda helped with the switch too..

Fish and corals seem alot happier now too

Cuc...not so much lol

Way too drastic. Its a two month old tank, if you expected it to be super pristine, you were very much mistaken. Tanks can be ugly for a while. Knee jerk reactions to restarting or nuking never address what caused the problem in the first place, thus most likely resulting in it happening again. Just focus on keeping the tank clean, maintain proper parameters, siphon them out when visible and it should work itself out just fine.

I agree totally. I went through the same things and was panicked. Followed advice here and just waited it out. Never used any additives and after 5 mos my tank is doing fine. I went through 2 diatom outbreaks and the usual green algea. Just be patient.
I feed only with frozen brine shrimp and silversides for the anemone. I don't disturb the sand and let the CUC take care of that.

My tank went through the same thing, do not restart it’s all part of the uglies and will go away with time. Keep up with water changes and syphon out as much as you can with each water change.

sorry for the misunderstand i meant that i have dinoflagellates

I had trouble with these when I first started my tank. I'm only at about month 6 right now, but I was at abount 2 months when mine started too. My local aquarium store told me to do a black out with the tank bust instead I just didn't turn on the lights for about 3 days and did 1 15% water change. As simple as that, my dinos all died off.
