I have had saltwater fish only and fowlr for almost 25 years off and on, a lot has changed in that time. So I have already purchased the aquarium, stand, and canopy plus a a lot of equipment. I would just like peoples advice on if I am missing anything major. I have already purchased these items:
Aquarium starphire glass 3 sides 96X24X30 dual drilled in both corners 1.5" drain 1" return
Sch 80 bulkheads for all 4 holes
Rid volt titanium grounding probe
GFCI tower shockbuster 3 outlet cord
90 GPD spectrapure RO/DI with dual TDS monitors and pressure boost pump
ADHI 60 refugium/sump with 3 power compacts fuge light
Tunze 9430 protein skimmer
Ecotech vectra l1 return pump
Tunze 3155 ATO
18 watt coralife turbotwist UV sterlizer with eheim pump
2 heaters 500 watt
1 Max Gyre XF150 with icecap controller
2 ecotech mp40 vortech quiet drive pumps
4 ecotech radion gen 3 xr30w pro lights
1 ecotech battery backup
1 ecotech reeflink
1 apex neptune gold older version with wxm module and magnetic probe holder
red sea test kits reef foundation pro (ma/ka/mg)
red sea algae control kit (No3/Po4)
API saltwater master test kit
refractometer
1 150 gallon salt mix Coral sea
1 150 gallon salt mix Neomarine
100 Lbs Pukani dry reef rock
40 Lbs Caribsea dry reef rock
200 lbs live fiji pik sand
Ok that's what I have, I was going to go buy 150-200 lbs of live rock fully cured from LFS to cycle tank and hopefully it will seed or grow onto all of the dry reef rock I already have in a year or so. My goal is to go slow basically doing a FOWLR for the first 3-6 months waiting for the water parameters to get in the proper range and remain steady. Plans for fish I would like a sailfin tang, blonde naso, purple tang, Flame angel, longnose hawkfish, flame hawkfish, six lie wrasse, peppermit shrimp, fire shrimp just my list of what I like to get.
Plus as I keep studying and learning about corals then I definitely want to add them to my tank. Thank you very much if you read all this!

Welcome! Looks like you got most equipments need so far to start. Only thing I see you are missing is some reactors for carbon and gfo. Might need a chiller if you don't have ac on at the house all the time. You really don't need that much live rock to seed the dry rocks. All you need is a few pieces for the seeding.

I agree with Reeferfourlife. I would say that you only need about 10% live rock to get your rocks and sand populated. The money you save there can be used on livestock. Or salt. You're gonna need lots more of that!.
Enjoy!

If you really want to take advantage of the UV sterilizer, the one you have is probably undersized. The Aqua UV or Emperor Aquatics UVs are the best brands to go with. I use a 40w from aqua UV for my 125 but both brands have different specs so you will want to look at those to size appropriately. Also depends what you are trying to kill with it. Good luck and sounds like a great tank.

1. Why are you using two different types of salt mix?
2. Why are you using reeflink AND Apex? There are reasons to do so, but you should know them before you hook up two products that basically do the same job.
3. Depending on what type of tank you want, 4 Radions will most likely not be enough light, at least that's been my experience.
4. There is NO WAY I would put a 6 line in a 300 gallon because sooner or later it's going to turn into the fish from $#&%@#^&* and getting it out again is going to be....
5. Not seeing a list of quarantine equipment and if you're hoping to add all of those nice fish I would absolutely want to QT everything.

Just thoughts off of the top of my head. 300 gallons is such a great size! Have fun and do keep us updated!

The six-line is very likely to eat the shrimp. Read the post on wrasse behavior. There are many better-behaved.

Thanks Sapelo for those good questios:
i bought the two salt mixes at different times thought that that the second one seemed more reef orientated. I will settle on one though.
2. Reeflink is cloud based and only runs my ecotech products, whereas the apex controls a lot of other things and will remain controlling my aquarium even if the web goes down or I can't get to it.
3. As for the Radions I am not going to start adding corals until my tank is ready and steady parameters wise, and after I have read a lot more on coral keepng/feeding and such. I don't want to go out buy frags and just kill them. But duly noted and I will have a PAR meter by then.
4. The six line wrasse was just a wish list thanks for the great tip he will be removed from my list.
5. It was late last night when I was typing this up I forgot to mention that I have a 20 gallon quarantine tank setup.
Thank you very much for your input Sapelo.
Knowledge is power!

Reeferfourlife thanks for the tip that should save me a ton of money. Someone else mentioned dr tims bacteria in a bottle but I am leery of that.

2015GAtor Thanks I will look into those uv sterilizers and see what they offer.

Make sure you read up on how to rid Pukani rock of phosphates if your long term plan is keeping corals.

Dry pukani is great rock(super porous and excellent for aquascaping), but its notorious for leeching phosphates for a long time, which can be detrimental to coral health. There is a easy way to rid the rock of phosphates, but requires a bit of time.
