I am totally new to SW, my last tank was a 100g FW and that was 15 years ago.
My plan is once I have the tank cycled to add fish and let the tank mature for several months, then slowly add soft and LPS corals.
I have a 72 X 24 X 24 glass ordered, 6-8 weeks for delivery.
This is undrilled and I plan to drill and install a Synergy 20" or a reef savvy 18"
I am undecided on which yet.
Since I have some time I wanted to start purchasing equipment I will need.
I built a heavy duty stand out of 2 X 4 and haven't put a skin around it yet but plan to. It is 30" high but I was thinking I may need it a little taller, say 34" for more room and easier to work on sump equipment. opinions on this please.
I have a BRS 4 stage water saver plus 150gpd RO/DI unit
A new 55 gal aquarium for sump that I need to add baffles to.
I also have approx 100 pounds of dry figi rock.
I also have a cpl 20 gallon containers for ATO and most of the pvc I need for plumbing.
Need suggestions on the following, I will list what I was thinking of getting first, so let me know if this is ok or should I go another route.
Skimmer, Super Reef Octopus 3000 int
Heaters, Cobalt Neo Therm 150w X 2
Return Pump, Sicce Syncra Silent 5.0 (1321 gph)
Powerheads, Vortech MP40 one or two, or Tunze nano 6095
I know there is alot more I will need to get, but I need to start somewhere and dont want to list all of it at once. I am really open to all suggestions. Im sure Im leaving out info that would help with this but I cant think of what it is. I also do plan to get something like an Apex or reefkeeper as well. I know this is an expensive hobby, especially starting out. Im not covered in money but would like to do this right from the start.
