I finally got a Long tentical for my mar clown. He was fine for a few days opened up to about 10 in, but never opened fully i don't think. well woke up today and he was caught in my maxi jet with the eco mod. Dosen't look good he has a tear at the top of his base. I made a small cage seperating him from my clown. Any ideas mabay iodine bath or something. I have pics soon as i figure out how to post i will.

Yes i have heard that

Yes i have heard that

But i don't really have a intake it is the eco mod so i would have to block off the whole thing.

That stuff would work pretty good and not look that bad either.

Learning a lesson is never good.

He is accually looking better got him under the halides and he is opening up a little but has few tentical left and mouth is open a little.

Plus he is changing shape a little

They can recover it will just take time. We all have our own learning curve, this is called learning the hard way. The best thing you can do at this point is to keep the water quality as pristine as possible and let it be. Post an updated photo it you can.

Do LTA like there shrimp soaked in selcon? I did it a while back he didn't want to eat it at first then did after a min.

I wouldn't try to feed it while its in this condition. Like what Lmecher said keep its water quality as good as possible and leave it alone. I don't know about your LTA but mine likes pretty much anything but oceanic VHP food and krill. I usually soak all my anemones food in selcon.

Thanks for advise. Its sad b/c just a yesterday he was looking nice. He had been eatting like crazy. Should i try in a few days or wait longer?

I saw were you said if there tenticals were short and mouth was open, means they are unhealthy. He was like that when we got him, but he ate the same day and acted fine untill his accident

You should wait until it has recovered, it could not possibly eat in this condition. As I said before the best thing you can do is keep up water quality and leave it alone and hope for the best.

That's a good idea, is it attached to anything, if not you don't want it to blow around. You know, you should keep that plastic grating up to keep the clown away too.

yea thats to keep the hungry clown away

yea thats to keep the hungry clown away

he is attatching to the crate now so mabay in the AM i will crank up the flow see how he likes it.

Thanks

A nice gentle flow is what LTAs like. If you have too much flow the LTA will detach and look for another place to settle in. The clown you have looks a bit too big for that LTA. After your LTA recovers, keep your clown away from the anemone untill it is 2x bigger than the clown. Premnas biaculeatus are rough on their anemones anyways.

He is VERY rough

When he opened up my clown would get in him and lay down like and you could harldly see him.

How long of a recovery you guessing?

Just tested paramiters they were good, but going to do a 15 gal change every 5 or 7 days. Try and keep everything healthy.

Would more light help him?

This morni he is looking a little better. Tenticals are real fat.

Mouth is still open, but i think its from getting somewhat ripped off.
